The SpringBrook Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Program provides treatment for individuals ages 18 and over experiencing mood disorders, thought process disorders, anxiety disorders, or other severe psychiatric symptoms that inhibit normal daily living activities and pose a threat of harm to self or others. Admissions are accepted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

THE SPRINGBROOK EXPERIENCE

The SpringBrook Adult Hospital is a private resource for individuals who experience severe problems related to emotional upset/mental illness. The small twenty bed adult service offers the privacy and individual attention conducive to emotional healing and problem solving. Staff treat all individuals with sensitivity, dignity and confidentiality. We understand the pain and conflict of dealing with mental and emotional illness. Our highly experienced SpringBrook Director of Nursing and respected adult psychiatrists provide medical leadership and program direction for the Adult Hospital.

SUPPORTING THE GAINS MADE AT SPRINGBROOK

When individuals are admitted with acute mental illness, our goals are to reduce the impact of stress and produce rapid and comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and stabilization. Medical intervention, medication management, individual therapy, group therapy, observation, protection, and a balance of rest and activity are used as needed. We develop a personal treatment schedule that is as short as possible to achieve patient goals. The process of assessment and diagnosis involves a joint effort between the patient, family and a team of staff representing several disciplines including psychiatry, social work, medicine, nursing, education and activity therapy. The collective assessment of the SpringBrook Adult Inpatient team is the key to discovering the approach that best fits the patient's style of problem solving.

Discharge planning begins at the time of admission in order to link adults with community resources for follow-up and continued treatment. Family involvement is encouraged and supported. Each course of treatment focuses on helping patients understand their illness, reach defined individual goals, become active in daily problem solving and organize their lives to reach their maximum potential.
