Adult Inpatient Acute Psychiatric Program
The SpringBrook Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Program provides treatment for individuals ages 18 and over experiencing severe psychiatric symptoms that inhibit normal daily living activities and pose a threat of harm to self or others such as:

The SpringBrook Experience
SpringBrook's 28-bed adult unit offers the privacy and individual attention conducive to emotional healing and problem solving. Staff treat all individuals with sensitivity, dignity and confidentiality. We understand the pain and conflict of dealing with mental and emotional illness. Our experienced Director of Nursing and psychiatrists provide medical leadership and program direction for the Adult Program.
When individuals are admitted with acute mental illness, our goal is to produce rapid stabilization through the use of:
Comprehensive mental and physical evaluations Medical intervention and medication managementIndividual and group therapy Skilled nursing observationBalance of rest and activityWe develop a personal treatment schedule that is as short as possible to achieve each patient's individual goals. The process of assessment and diagnosis involves a joint effort between the patient, family and a treatment team of staff representing several disciplines including psychiatry, social work, nursing, education and activity therapy. This team collaboration is the key to discovering the approach that best fits the patient's style of problem solving.
Discharge planning begins at the time of admission in order to link individuals with community resources for follow-up and continued treatment. Family involvement is encouraged and supported. Each course of treatment focuses on helping patients understand their illness, reach defined individual goals, become active in daily problem solving and organize their lives to reach their maximum potential.
